The Exact Workout Marlon Wayans Used to Transform His Physique for ‘Him’

Marlon Wayans, 52, transformed his body for his latest role in Him, fully immersing himself in the character of Isaiah.
Him, which is scheduled to hit theaters September 19, follows a young athlete who “descends into a world of terror when he’s invited to train with a legendary champion (Isaiah) whose charisma curdles into something darker.”
To prepare, Wayans committed to a demanding athlete-style training regimen. His routine is a mix of high-intensity workouts, strength training, and conditioning.
Football training also played a role. Although he relied on a stunt double for more complex moves, he attended Jordan Palmer’s football camp to learn proper throws and footwork.
“I’m 52 years old. I’m trying to be here for a long time. I feel like these are my best years are ahead of me. I’ve been a star a long time, and I want to preserve myself and my youth for these moments so even though I’m 50, I can still play 35,” Wayans told Men’s Health.
