Taylor Swift is counting down to ‘grand finale’ a week before ‘Showgirl’ is released

Less than a week away from Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated “Showgirl” era, a new mint green countdown has appeared on the singer’s website.

The dazzling display is accompanied by the text, “Expires September 26th at 4:00 p.m. ET” in Swift’s signature handwriting.

While fans have been anticipating autographed CDs and vinyls to drop — which would be in line with her other album rollouts — there’s no word on what the countdown will lead to.

Swift’s fan account Taylor Nation shared the countdown to Instagram with the caption, “Is it almost time for the grand finale?”

The 12 tracks will be released at midnight on Oct. 3. The singer has rolled out eight different variants for the “Showgirl” era, meaning there are eight different versions of the same album of 12 songs that fans can buy as collectibles. Each variant has different aesthetics, photos and poems associated. Every purchase counts as an album sale so for fans who buy eight different versions, that’s eight records sold.

Taylor Swift announced her 12th studio album, "The Life of a Showgirl," will drop Oct. 3.

To help roll out Swift’s 12th era, she is premiering a fan-fueled “Showgirl” movie in theaters for one weekend only. Regal Theaters, CineMark and AMC will show “Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl.” The 89-minute film will include a music video to her first track “The Fate of Ophelia,” lyric videos and Swift interviews discussing this new project.

Tickets are priced at $12 and available at releasepartyofashowgirl.com.

Talk show appearances

The singer is confirmed for two talk show appearances. Swift will kick off her “Showgirl” media run on “The Graham Norton Show.” BBC announced the show will coincide with the Oct. 3 album release. Swift will appear alongside actors Cillian Murphy, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith and Domhnall Gleeson, with singer Lewis Capaldi performing.

She’ll then head stateside for “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Oct. 6. The late night host revealed the news in a playful Instagram skit where he spins a roulette wheel, loses a bet and quips, “Baby, that’s show business for you.”
