Following the summer break, the Formula 1 season has returned with the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort this weekend.

Oscar Piastri leads the drivers’ championship by nine points from McLaren team-mate Lando Norris following the Briton’s victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix last time out.

But Norris had the better of his team-mate in Friday’s practice, topping both sessions.

In the constructors’ standings, leaders McLaren are ahead of Ferrari by 299 points, while Mercedes in third are only 24 points behind the Italian team in the race for second.

Sunday’s grand prix starts at 14:00 BST.

There is a chance that the first race back after the summer shutdown will be a wet one, with forecasts predicting rain at points across the weekend.

The rain largely managed to stay away in Friday’s practice, but did fall lightly at points throughout the day.

On Saturday, there’s a 36% chance of rain during the final practice session, but qualifying is predicted to take place in dry conditions.

For Sunday’s 72-lap race, more light rain is predicted for the morning, although is likely to have subsided by lights out. A moderate breeze and a high of 19C is also forecast.
