Notre Dame Lands a Commitment from 2027 Quarterback Teddy Jarrard
BREAKING: Notre Dame has landed commitment No. 3 in the class of 2027, with a verbal pledge coming from North Cobb (GA) composite four-star quarterback Teddy Jarrard.
The Fighting Irish beat out 33 other offering programs for Jarrard’s commitment, most notably the local Georgia Bulldogs.
Other suitors included Clemson, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State.
Listed as a three-star prospect and the No. 18 quarterback by 247Sports, Jarrard slots in at No. 194 overall and No. 15 among passers in the composite.
Jarrard became the first 2027 quarterback with a Notre Dame offer on June 21, joined later that day by fellow blue-chipper Peyton Houston. The Irish hosted the Georgia signal caller for a visit and private workout on June 5, one day ahead of Irish Invasion.
“I spent a whole day there with Coach Gino and the coaching staff,” Jarrard told Irish Illustrated’s Bryan Ault on June 17. “I saw everything. I saw the facilities, the dorms, the classes and everything. I was able to see all of that. Coach Gino has been my main guy that I’ve talked to and Coach Freeman. I can’t remember the OC’s name (Mike Denbrock) but we talked for two hours. The whole day was planned out for every coach that I would be in contact with.”
Prior to Jarrard’s pledge, the Irish sat at two commits in the class, good for the No. 23 overall group. Following this latest news, using the 247Sports class calculator, Notre Dame projects to the No. 8 class nationally, ahead of Ole Miss and trailing Alabama.
After landing a pair of big-armed, lower-efficiency passers in Blake Hebert (2025) and Noah Grubbs (2026), the Fighting Irish went to the 2027 well looking for a high-efficiency specialist, a box Jarrard checks in spades. Through two seasons as a starter (24 games), Jarrard has completed 362-of-551 passes (65.7 percent) for 4,712 yards with 49 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.
His breakout sophomore season (12 games) saw Jarrard complete 209-of-291 passes (71.8 percent) for 2,647 yards with 31 touchdowns and just five picks.
