Fenerbahce has stepped up its search for a striker to strengthen its squad during the January transfer window. Unable to get the expected return from En-Nesyri, the Yellow-and-Blues are looking to offload the Moroccan star and find a striker who can make a contribution.
The first name on the list was Robert Lewandowski. According to reports, the management made initial contact with the Polish star. Fenerbahce management offered Lewandowski a 1.5-year contract. However, the star footballer is expecting a 2.5-year deal. Despite being 37 years old, Lewandowski remains one of the world’s most renowned strikers. This season, he has struggled to secure a regular place in Barcelona’s starting eleven. The possibility of him parting ways with the Catalan club in January is growing increasingly likely.
Another name was Alexander Sörloth. Having previously made waves in the Super League with Trabzonspor, Sörloth wants to leave Atletico Madrid because he has not been given the playing time he expected. Atletico Madrid has opened the door for Sörloth to join Fenerbahce for €35 million. It has been reported that Fenerbahce initially considered a loan deal for this transfer. However, one of the player’s main criteria is how his wife would feel about living in Istanbul.
According to Takvim’s report, following these two important names, Fenerbahce has now turned its attention to Napoli’s star striker Romelu Lukaku. The 32-year-old Belgian forward, who has been unable to play this season due to injury, is expected to return to the pitch on 1 December.
Lukaku, who stands out with his physical strength and height of 1.91 metres, has a current market value of approximately €15 million. The experienced striker’s contract will expire on 30 June 2027.
One of the most important players in the Belgian national team, Lukaku has contributed to the country’s football by scoring 89 goals in 124 matches in the national jersey.
