Bengals do a homecoming with free-agent signing before training camp

The Cincinnati Bengals made a quiet addition to the roster in free agency just before training camp starts.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Bengals signed quarterback Desmond Ridder.

Ridder, of course, is big in the Tri-State area after quarterbacking memorable UC Bearcats seasons in recent years before being a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft.

Now 25, Ridder spent two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, then had stints with two teams last year.

The Bengals want camp bodies and Ridder is a high-value get at this point of the summer, spicing up the competition behind Joe Burrow with Jake Browning and Logan Woodside.
