Missouri ticket wins part of $1.787B Powerball jackpot

MISSOURI, USA — A Powerball ticket sold in Missouri is one of two to win the $1.787 billion Powerball jackpot, the second-largest prize in the game’s history. The winners will split the massive prize after matching all six numbers in Saturday night’s drawing.

The Missouri Lottery announced the location where the winning ticket was bought on Monday, over 24 hours after the initial drawing. They confirmed the ticket was bought in north St. Louis County at the QuikTrip location at 12110 Lusher Road.

State lottery officials previously reported they’d release the location within 72 hours of the drawing.

The identity of the winner may remain a mystery, as Missouri has a law that grants anonymity to lottery winners.

A law that took effect in 2021 prohibits the publishing of names, addresses or other identifying information of lottery winners. If anyone with access to that information shares it, such as the lottery commission, its employees or contractors, they could face a Class A misdemeanor.
